Vision Therapy.
Vision therapy is the art and science of developing visual skills to optimize vision, performance and comfort.
Vision therapy treatment programs can be designed to improve vision in a number of ways: to correct lazy-eye (amblyopia), get the eyes to turn together simultaneously (strabismus), increase vision efficiency and reduce eye strain, or improve school performance by eliminating vision-related learning problems.
Although glasses, contact lenses, and laser eye surgery can make it possible for most of us to see 20/20, there is a lot more to good vision than just being able to see well! Even if someone has perfect vision, the conditions mentioned above can affect the ability to use their eyes efficiently. In addition to causing negative symptoms, these conditions can sometimes contribute to learning and reading difficulties.
The goal of therapy is to teach the visual system to correct itself to provide lasting benefits.
