Here at Eyelab,
We use the state-of-the-art equipment.
The techonology we use allows us to develop a highly customized and personalized treatment plan for your child. Each child is different, so each non-invasive treatment will be tailored to your child’s vision needs.
Technology
Our doctors have dedicated many years of training to learning this craft and are certified to provide the best possible care of myopia management for your child. This clinic was built especially for pediatric care in mind.
Vision Therapy
Walking Rail
The walking rail focuses on the integration of balance, and visually guided motion. This is extremely beneficial for not only patients with strabismus, but even athletes who are looking to improve their performance.
SVI, Trampoline, pegboard rotator
Tools used in therapy can range from complex technology such as the SVI (Sanet Vision Integration), or simply a trampoline. By adding various levels of difficulty and catering activities to the patient, we can reuse the same tools but with a different purpose depending on the needs of a patient.
Vectogram
The vectogram works on a patient's binocularity, or the ability to use both eyes simultaneously to perceive their surroundings. The vectogram can be used to treat a variety of diagnoses, ranging from convergence insufficiency to strabismus.

Orthokeratology
OCT
By imaging the retina, the OCT allows us to assess the health of the retina on a cellular level to detect any tears or stretching. In patients with myopia, the eyeball stretches in length, causing thinning of the retina. This leads to increased risk of retinal tears and holes, which can be caught early with frequent routine eye exams. The Fundus camera images the back of the eye to examine the optic nerve and blood vessels delivering oxygen to the eye.
EyeSpace
Design and fit contact lenses specifically tailored to your eyes. Allows customization of various parameters of your lens for the best personal fit.
MEDMONT Topographer
The topographer captures the corneal topography (curvature) of the patient’s eye which allows our doctors to design the best-fitting contact lenses. It also allows the doctors to monitor the fit of Ortho-K contact lenses overtime.
MYAH Axial Length
Axial length (the length of the eyeball) is the true measure of myopia progression; the eyeball stretches longer as myopia progresses. Unlike other machines that provide an approximate, axial length measurement is the most accurate because it is not influenced by extraneous factors such as duration of sleep and proper wear of OK lenses. As Vancouver’s first optometry clinic to measure and chart eye axial length, we can best monitor the patient’s progression of myopia. MYAH Topcon also screens for Dry Eye symptoms by measuring tear breakup time and imaging meibomian glands.

Dry Eye Treatment

Tearlab
The Tearlab is an objective and quantitative point-of-care diagnostic test for Dry Eye Disease. By measuring the osmolarity (salt concentration) of human tears, it provides precise and predictive information regarding the patient’s tear evaporation rate and dry eye severity.
Luvo Darwin
The LUVO DARWIN provides the IPL and RF Combo System used in advanced Dry Eye treatment and is the only multi-modality system approved by Health CANADA for Dry Eye treatments. It provides easy customization of hand pieces and settings that allow treatments to be tailored to individual patients and their needs. The IPL system delivers highly concentrated photon energy to reduce inflammation, unclog oil glands, and improve skin appearance. The RF system uses heat to unclog the oil glands in the eyelids to release natural oils into the eye and protect tears from evaporation.
