About
Dr. Hellen Xu was born in Guangzhou and moved to Vancouver as a child. Throughout her optometric training, she completed clinical rotations in Grande Prairie, Alberta and Hamilton, Ontario. During her time in Grande Prairie, she became adept in co-managing complex ocular conditions and gained valuable experiences in the management of ocular injuries, disease, and pediatrics. Over the years, she has volunteered for organizations such as VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) and EHI (The Eye Health Institute) to provide eye exams to underprivileged communities in Africa and Jamaica. With her dedication to helping others, Dr. Xu continues to practice as a locum doctor in rural locations in BC.
In her free time, Dr. Xu enjoys spending time outdoors and travelling. She’s also an avid yoga practitioner.
